yellowperch
I've noticed that Oak Meadow teaches upper case letters in K and lower case in Grade 1. I've always taught them together, and think that works best. However, I'd love to try Oak Meadow K for my 4 yo who is ready to read. Has anyone used this, but modified it to teach upper case and lower case at the same time? How easy is this to do? TIA
Closeacademy
It probably isn't that big of a deal. Oak Meadow is very adaptable.:001_smile:
Katydid
Actually, OMK introduces capitals, then OM1 teaches capitals and lowercase at the same time. :001_smile:

Guest
Actually introducing the letters in K is one of the adaptations that Oak Meadow has made to the Waldorf Philosophy that the school follows. Here's an article if you are interested. I do not use Oak Meadow but did research their curricula when I was researching what to use with my kiddos. Just scroll down to "Teaching the Alphabet and Numbers in Kindergarten", if you don't want to read the whole article. http://www.oakmeadow.com/resources/articles/oak-meadow-waldorf.php
