mo2
My 8yo has always had atrocious handwriting....until we started cursive last week. The difference is amazing! It is perfectly readable...no more odd spacing issues, no floating all over the line, no more strange starting points. So now I'm considering switching the entire household to cursive and teaching the littles cursive first. Can anyone lead me to more discussion on this subject? Thanks. specialkmom
You can do a search in this board for cursive first threads. I just finished reading a bunch of them. Now my head is spinning!
Whereneverever
Just search the board for cursive. We did Cursive First (the program) and my DD has beautiful handwriting- and it's easy for her. I'm a true believer. :D

I'm a true believer. :D :iagree: We've had the same experience. CF includes a lot of research on the benefits of learning cursive first in the manual. I started my ds6 with printing last year but we switched to cursive in June because he was begging to write "fancy." Now that I've seen the difference, all of my littles will be starting cursive in K.
annabanana1992
All 3 of mine were cursive first - it worked great. They are all capable of writing beautifully (sometimes they just don't choose to :glare:).
