Laura Corin
Calvin, ten days into Latin at his new school, said, "I'm really glad you made me chant all that Latin and learn it properly. It's making a big difference now." Laura

SonshineLearner
Very Good! Record it! You might need it later, just to remember what you he said. I wish for the day! My daughter, on the other hand, is saying, "You promised me that'd I'd only have to learn 3 years, and now I"m on #5" Oh well..... Calvin's a year older, perhaps there's hope, still for me. BUT, Congrats!! I'm sure he'll think the same about many subjects you laid out for him! :)
Laura Corin
BUT, Congrats!! I'm sure he'll think the same about many subjects you laid out for him! :) His class has reached Pythagoras, which Calvin studied last year in his Galore Park maths book. He's enjoying being well prepared, after many years of feeling that he was not good at maths. Laura

Laura Corin
I am sure that was nice to hear! I hope your boys are enjoying school! Particularly Calvin - he's wandering around the house singing in the evenings. He loves his Latin and French teachers, adores singing in choir and just is having an all-around great time. He even said that rugby wasn't so bad this week. His history teacher isn't very good - which is a shame, as Calvin loves history - but she's not a disaster, just not very interesting. Hobbes is starting to enjoy himself too: he was pretty tired and a little subdued at first, but he's starting to emerge. So far I love the school too - lots of individual attention to the pupils and understanding of parental concerns. I'm trying not to be in their hair too much. We've also met a very nice family that we hope to spend some time with once Ramadan is over and they are more free to socialise.
