RegGuheert
When it comes to Indian cooking, it seems clear that you need quality spices in fairly large quantities. Since we do not have a good source within about one hour's drive, we would like to purchase these things online. Does Amazon have some good products and prices, or is there somewhere else we should look? TIA!
helena
bump :) I've never ordered spices online before, so I can't be helpful there. It did make me think that if and when you find a good supplier, it might help to buy spices in their "whole" parts. You could grind them in a coffee grinder as needed. This might allow you to get the most robust flavor from bulk online, infrequent spice buying. I'm thinking of spices like cumin seeds, coriander seed, cardamom, etc. We also have these for our indian spices:http://www.amazon.com/Stainless-Masala-Regular-Traditional-Indian/dp/B000T3E96O
brijen97
We buy all of our spices from Penzy's. The quality is great and the price is much, much less than the grocery store. http://www.penzeys.com/cgi-bin/penzeys/shophome.html Enjoy!!
