sarahf.
Does anyone have a book list of great read alouds for the grammer stage middle ages? I haven't received my AG for SOTW 2 yet and want to request a library book for next week when we start school. Any suggestions for week 1?Thanks:)
Mom_Abear
Hi, there! I didn't do a read aloud with the first chapter b/c it was discussing Rome and we read a lot of Rome books last year. If you want something that will introduce the time period and span over several weeks, you could check out Mary Pope Osborne's Favorite Medieval Tales. I have not read it, but it sounds like it might make for a good overview, including some of the stories from the next few weeks' chapters and recommended readings. For week 2, we read Morpurgo's version of Beowulf as a read aloud. You could always get a head start on that if you wanted. ;)
