Heidi
How do you find out what reading level your child is reading at? My dd6 reads really, really well and I'm curious to know. Is there a quick little test she can take somewhere? Thanks
ElizabethB
The wide range test is a bit higher than current norms, the NRRF test is a bit lower than current norms. Both are fairly quick ( you just need part 2 of the NRRF test.). The NRRF test is normed to reading levels in the early 1900s when there was more phonetic teaching of reading and spelling. http://www.thephonicspage.org/On%20Reading/readinggradeleve.html

LisaS
I was just thinking about this the other day. Thanks from me too!
EKS
There are quick tests for decoding, which is not exactly the same as reading level. If you can give me a list of 3-5 or so books that she has read recently which you think represent her level well, I could probably give you an estimate. Alternately, the DORA is an online test that costs about $20 and is very complete.
