mamafox
My 12 yo ds is a very reluctant writer but seems to do well with the structure of IEW. I would like to improve his skills in "language mechanics" and was wondering if understanding the "dress ups" in IEW and Daily grams seems sufficient. Any thoughts? Thanks so much! Ellie
Daily Grams is not enough unless he's previously completed Easy Grammar, or ABeka/BJUP/something-similar for grammar/comp. Daily Grams is review, not initial instruction. I'd say Easy Grammar Plus instead of Daily Grams.

Debbie:001_smile: If that is going to be his only grammar, then maybe you could consider Easy Grammar or even Mother Tongue instead of Daily Grams. Daily Grams just doesn't contain the explanations of a full grammar program. HTH- Mandy
meet me in paris
Well, it's pretty much what we're doing for 7th since I dropped Sonlight LA. We're doing the IEW Fix-It with IEW writing, but Fix-It is similar to Daily Grams. With IEW writing, they're getting a lot of grammar in context, so I don't think you need to do a full blown grammar program.
