littlefurfamily
My friend and I started talking about starting a book group as a way to get together regularly and read some books together. We decided to ask some girls/women from college (back in the day) to join us.... so it will be a multi-tasking kind of girl's night out/potluck/margaritas kind of book group. So does anyone have any great book suggestions?? Nothing too heavy or heady (though a little heavy and heady could be okay) ~ really just good, fun, and discussable?? Stacia
Sounds kind of like my book club, lol! Some books that we've read & enjoyed discussing: Waiting for Snow in Havana by Carlos Eire The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon The Book Thief by Markus Zusak Bel Canto by Ann Patchett The Sparrow by Mary Doria Russell (great discussion book) Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress by Dai Sijie People of the Book by Geraldine Brooks Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert The Eyre Affair by Jasper Fforde The Beekeeper's Apprentice by Laure R. King Dancer by Colum McCann East of Eden by John Steinbeck Into Africa: The Epic Adventures of Stanley and Livingstone by Martin Dugard and I could list many more, but I'm sure others will chime in w/ other great suggestions. Enjoy your book club. :001_smile:

Heidi @ Mt Hope
Watership Down and Devil in the White City. Two completely different books, but my book club loves variety. :)
