duckabell
Last night we walked to our local campus and dropped by on an outside performance of Taming of the Shrew. We arrived after it had begun, and stayed for a few minutes until our children started to become a little restless. As we started to leave, my DS (3) turned to me and asked, "What are they talking about?" I have to admit that -- as I've never read the play -- and watched only a few minutes, I wasn't so certain myself. I know what I'm checking out at the library today. I wonder if he'll say the same thing the first time he reads Shakespeare. Edited August 24, 2010 by duckabell
Remudamom
Snort! You need to put that in his baby book!
Alessandra
If you scroll down on this page, you'll find a link to animated versions of S's plays -- the same videos are also at Amazon. And Jim Weiss has a S audio with Taming of the Shrew & Midsummer Night's Dream -- well done retellings.
fairfarmhand
Read Tales from Shakespeare and if you can find it, the 1960's version of the play with Liz Taylor and Richard Burton is really good. Even my 8 yr old was into it.
