6packofun Posted August 23, 2010 Share Posted August 23, 2010 I can summarize what a friend who used GSN had to say about why she's not using it again this year: 1) Grammar and spelling errors in the online texts 2) Lessons in some courses seemed aimless, like a world history course that skipped from the Mongolian Wars to WWII 3) Not many *real* tests because questions were listed alongside the text! 4) Printing out items for preparing portfolio was tedious; poor format on several things 5) More grading for mom than she expected because there were many "answers may vary" notes in the teacher section so she had to go over everything to find if her kids DID answer correctly There were some things she liked, but I think it was a you get what you pay for kind of result.
