1GirlTwinBoys
Has anyone used this? It looks like a good progam from the online samples. I didn't really care for the worktext because it looked like just a lot of busy work??? The actual stories and discussion part of it look really good though. Guest TheBugsMom
We started this last week. I like it for dd to use as her read-aloud-to-mom book. The discussion questions are great but dd hates to stop after each page and answer questions. I let her read the days work then I pick certain questions for each page to ask her...I do not ask her every question. The enrichment ideas are great though. I use the workbook as busywork (dd loves workbooks) but it also has great info to learn....phonics review, word work, literary terms and in older grades they learn about authors, genres, literary lessons, and reference skills. sixpence1978
We used it for my DS and liked it as well. Yes, the worktext is mostly just busy work. But they do cover some concepts in a way that a 2nd grader can understand. Even just doing the readers with the TM would be a great reading program though. Like a PP, we didn't do EVERY question. And if I thought of a different question to ask, I would do that. We also did not stop after every page but let him read the entire selection for the day and then went over it.
