Guest
Has anyone ever put together American history using Betsy Maestro books as the spine(s)? I've only had the chance to see one of the books for a short time so I'm not sure if they would be good for that?
King Alfred Academy
We LOVE those books and plug them in wherever we can. As far as using them as a spine? I think it can be done and done well, but I don't know if anyone has done it. I say, "go for it!" :001_smile:
scrapbabe
Definitely a spine for younger kids.

calandalsmom
I did it when I used core 3 (SL) with my boys, who were 9 and 6. I picked them up because I liked the art work and at the time Winter Promise used one of them in one of their currics for younger kids doing Am Hist. It worked super well and we enjoyed them. I've only had the chance to see one of the books for a short time so I'm not sure if they would be good for that? I did a Maestro, Venezia (for presidents) and If you lived.... combo. All the books are about the same, nice color pictures with minimal text. There is one of the Maestro books that is a bit pro Indian and anti-European, but that didn't really bother me. More fodder for discussion. Heather
