kidsnbooks8
Has anyone used this with a 12yo? I was thinking of having her read independently and do written narration, along with some additional literature on her level. Her younger sisters will be doing it with the AG. Guest ME-Mommy
I'm using it this year with an 11 yo...he will be doing the reading in SOTW as well as a page or two in either Usborne ILE or Kingfisher HE. We are using it as a spine for TOG Y1 so his Literature assignments will come from TOG -- which usually coincide with one of the suggestions from the SOTW AG. HTH... 5LittleMonkeys
Last year my dd12 read SOTW 1 independently, outlined the corresponding KFH pages, read additional literature that corresponded and at the end of the week, would write down 10 things she learned that she found to be of importance. Once in a while, because we were having some writing issues, I would have her pick one of the things from her list and expand on it. We went this route because we were having some issues with attitude about the curriculum I had purchased for her. It actually turned out to be a pretty good year. She wasn't stressed, I wasn't stressed, and she actually retained\learned a lot.
