It's got some very kid-friendly features. Yes, that's pretty good but it not as good as the traveling one. I've been to both and definitely enjoyed the traveling one more. OP I don't know but I would think that maybe if you picked an area first and then checked major museums in the area that they might have a schedule of their upcoming events. I know it's backwards from how you want to approach it but I think the really big museums almost always have some special exhibit going on.
