MistyJ
Where is the section on Verbals and their Properties? Trying to do a lesson today and felt that sinking doom when you can't explain the lesson to your child.

siloam
Aesop and Homer for older beginners. Student workbook p. 191. I have the answers in my teacher manual, but I don't understand the properties of verbals. In the core book it is cover on p. 119. Basically you have Participles which usually but are not always are a verb with ING ending. It is a modifier and removable from the sentence. You have Gerunds which are a verbs with ING ending acting as a noun and is not removable from the sentence. Then Infinitives which is the word to and a verb. It can be either a modifier that is removable or a noun that is not. Heather
