thepoteetteam
Do you use the activity cards with SP? I am starting it this year with 3 children, but don't want to spend extra time if I don't HAVE to with this Currriculum. My kids are already pretty good spellers. Thanks! JumpedIntoTheDeepEndFirst
You don't have too. I think they give more activities for using words and further reinforcement. Kind of like the activities you get in a workbook like Spelling Workout. I wouldn't call them a must if the regular exercise does the trick. JennyW
We don't do any of the extras. Just the spelling tests, and practice pages for the ones they get wrong.
unity
The kids make up their own activity to work with the words they missed, though, so it's kind of like using the cards. There are ideas in the book, and if they are having an uncreative day I look on that page for inspiration.
wy_kid_wrangler04
I started with the activity cards but then I ended up giving mine away to a friend. Everything in the activity cards were things we covered in our english, writing or editing work so we stopped! It was just redundant after a while! SFKC
I agree with above posts -- we're happy with the daily list process too. One thing to add: Once in a while my kid is inspired to write a paragraph using every word in that day's list. These pieces won't win Pulitzers, but I figure they're good spelling reinforcement (and great for a laugh).
