What's your favorite evening snack???

Recommended Posts

If I want to be good... it's popcorn, popped either in my FIL's incredible old-fashioned popcorn popper, or on the stovetop.

Sometimes I grab a handful each of peanuts, raisins, pretzels, and 2 handfuls of chocolate chips.

Other times it is graham crackers, smeared with peanut butter and dotted with chocolate chips. (Cream cheese works on the graham crackers, too.)

How about you? What do you munch on???

Well, it varies, but last night's was a prodigious amount of homemade ice cream. My middle dd made it and it's fabulous - hazelnut coffee flavored. I ate waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much of it....:blushing:

I wish I could try the popcorn in the old-fashioned popper! My dad made popcorn nearly every night of my childhood, with oil in a popper with a little plastic peek-through hole on the top. We'd watch it popping up against the plastic. And he put butter and parmesan cheese on it, which is so delicious, but which I realized when I was older was not a usual topping.

Either popcorn (I buy this bagged kind from the food co-op--it's air popped tossed with olive oil and sea salt), or apple chips, or this fabulous organic blackberry ice cream with chocolate syrup, depending on how many WW points I have left. I also love the fudge bars from Aldi.

Late night snacks are something we exceed in although we shouldn't. :) The preferred late night snack changes from time to time but we always seem to eat one to death before moving to another.

Popcorn is good one but not used very often. It's often a daytime snack. Nachos of chips sprinkled with shredded cheese, melted and dipped in salsa never goes away. Angel hair noodles in butter and fresh grated parmesean or a bit of pesto is also always on the options list.

In the past it's been pancakes for a while, fried eggs for a while, sometimes egg salad or chicken salad and crackers, and even one very naughty time we briefly were making jalapeno poppers with cheddar cheese.

I don't need to lose weight but my husband does a bit. We've really cut down or out the late night snacking. It's so much fun though. I love getting the boys in bed and making a snack and watching a bit of something together. It's like a date every night. :)

I have to have something high in protein before bedtime or else I will awaken during the night feeling terrible.

I usually eat either a sandwich on whole wheat bread with some sort of lunch meat and cheese.

Or I'll eat half a whole wheat bagel with a little cream cheese.

Or I'll eat two Jimmy Dean sausage links.

Wow, I didn't realize there were so many people who ate popcorn before bedtime! I've heard of people having a bowl of ice cream at night but not the popcorn.

I spied a jar of Nutella at the grocery store this afternoon and thought of you, Nakia!

I still didn't buy it, and I've not yet tasted Nutella.

 That's so funny. People keep posting Nutella recipes on my facebook wall. I guess it's no secret that it is one of the loves of my life.

You really should try it. I mean, it's like heaven in a jar. For real.
