Mallory
We don't do a lot of lapbooks or notebooks, but we use our projects. If they fit and are booklike, I store them on the appropriate shelves. For example my oldest two made books about animals and planets (with REAL Science Odyssey) and we store those with our animal books and planet books. My little kids love when their big brothers read those books and I think the big ones feel proud to have the books to show off. Costume pieces, models, and other arts and crafts kind of projects usually get played with until they fall apart. I don't know what I'd do if my kids wanted to save everything, instead they want to use it!
Guest
I take pictures. Sometimes these go into notebooks: science project photos, for instance, go in her lab notebook with other work related to the project or activity. Some I just save for her to look at along with all the other pictures of stuff like huge Lego constructions or costumes she makes up from various pieces of cloth, pipe cleaners, yarn, and flowers... But having pictures is the only way I've been able to finally throw things out when they disintegrate, or in the case of one project with macaroni, attract weevils! kls126s
Take a picture, blog it if I think of it, then throw it away when they are not looking! You gotta take it straight to the trash in the garage though, or you might get busted. Ask me how I know that.
