All you "Shredders" out there ...

Recommended Posts

I've had 30-Day Shred on my shelf since May and finally decided to start today. :blushing:

I got through it without taking a break!! Yay! But I felt like I was going to be sick :ack2: for an hour afterward. :glare:

I hope this gets easier.

My motto for the next month: I can do anything for 30 days, I can do anything for 30 days, I can do anything ....

I have tried this and I think it really kicks my tush. Can I ask, are you planning to do it every day for 30 days? When I was doing it last month, I could only do it every other day and I am fairly fit. My calves were screaming for days after the first work-out. I'll be interested to know how you feel after 3 or 4 straight days if that's your plan. Please keep us posted!

Well, I was planning on doing it all in a row, but I'm already sore and only just worked out 2 hours ago!! :tongue_smilie: So, who knows - I might just wake up tomorrow not able to move. I did take an extra 5 minutes after the DVD was over to stretch more, hopefully that will help a bit.

If I do go for it tomorrow, I'm sure I will not be able to get through it all without pausing it for a few minutes. I hope by the end of the week it will feel a little easier. :)

And perhaps I should forego the coffee before working out!

Congratulations! I don't think you'll regret it. This was the DVD that, over a year ago, got me fit again after giving birth to twins.

fwiw, when I was starting, I did it every other day for about a week, and then started doing Level 1 the first day, Level 2 the second day and Level 3 the third day, in rotation, even though I couldn't do all the advanced exercises all the way through.

I figured it was better to do something a little different each day, to let my muscles recover, rather than to be able to do Level I perfectly every day, but risk injury because of the constant repetition. I know that's not how it's supposed to be used, but it worked for me, so I thought I'd pass it on, in case it's helpful. Level 3 is killer, but if you give yourself permission to suck at it at first, you'll get better (and feel better) really quickly! At least, that was my experience. :)

Anyway, I just gave myself permission to pause for 10 seconds, or use lower (or no) weights when I needed to, in order to get through, and I was really happy I didn't have to just do Level 1 for ten days in a row!

This sounds like a good idea. When I start getting bored with Level 1, I might just do a day or two with one of the other levels to mix it up a bit.

I bought my shredder for $30 and it does give me quite the workout. It only shreds 6 pages at a time and my arm does get tired. I've never tried doing it for 30 days in a row though.

:rofl::laugh: Bwhaaaa!

I started it last week. I am doing it every other day to give my muscles a rest since I am out of shape. I do 30 min on treadmill on the off days. I also plan on switching it up next week by rotating the levels.

It is killer isnt it??

I own all the Biggest Loster DVDs so I think I may start rotating those in every other day so i dont get bored :)

I did about 3 weeks of the 30 Day Shred before we went on our cruise in May and it kicked my behind. It also got me in pretty decent shape (considering I only did it for slightly less than 3 full weeks). After the cruise though, I fell off the wagon, so to speak. I've gotten terribly flabby and out of shape (boo!) and need to start back up again. Crikey. Jillian is evil. Evil!!!!! I think she might be out to kill me.

She is EVIL, isn't she!! ;)

This morning I can barely move, I am SOOOOOOOO sore. But I think I'll give it a go this afternoon again. If I take a break inbetween at the beginning, I'm not sure on day 3 I'd do it again. ;)

I'll let you know if I survive!

I have been doing it for around 5 weeks. I do it usually 6 days a week. Honestly, now that I am into it it is harder if I skip a day. This past weekend I had a girls weekend and skipped two days. I thought I would DIE yesterday! My endurance has improved so much over the past month, and I can tell a difference in how my clothes fit. I haven't lost much as far as numbers, but my numbers aren't that bad.

You had me going!:lol: I'm sitting here thinking, 'WHY would Daisy pay so much for THAT DVD?'

I am starting it this week - the heat is so bad that running is getting out of the question as is walking -- I figure I will try this.

I hike/walk an average of 3 miles daily and wanted to tone up. I bought the DVD last summer and never got to use its

SOOOO! I did level one Thursday night. My calves burned for days. I decided to start with a more beginner level weight DVD (Denise Austin) for a few weeks. I will try the Shred again in September.

I could easily do the cardio and ab portions but the push ups and the side/squat with lateral raised made me want to cry:D

I never know what you all are talking about when you mention shred. LOL So I thought I would respond with what I think about when it gets brought up. :D
