Ottakee
My girls have been granted a Make A Wish trip and one of them wants Disney and the other one wants Discovery Cove. We can list 3 different dates that we would like to go and I was wondering which months are great. We do NOT want really hot weather. In fact, other than swimming with the dolphins, sweatshirt weather would be totally fine with us. They did say we might be something before April but otherwise mostly they are booking April and out and I know that is spring break time and I don't know if we want to face the huge crowds (even with the Make a Wish stuff). LNC
We went in November. It was the perfect time, weather was great and crowds were very light. No conferences/school trips right before the holiday season...
dansamy
February. Early May (post-Spring Break). Late September. A week or so after Thanksgiving up until about 1 week before Christmas break.
sparrow
We went in February this year. We're hoping to go again next year. It will either be January or February. Weather can be iffy....last year was one of FL's coldest winters, but it was warm to us (we're from MI). We were fine in jeans and t-shirts except one night when we had to retrieve our coats from the car. Crowds were virtually non-existent :001_smile:. I've heard to avoid "President's Week" in February. Mom2J112903
Feb and week after Thanksgiving :) We go the week after Thanksgiving-low crowds and Christmas decorations are up. We only had to wear a light jacket in the morning and the last day we were there-we were in shorts. :D
Heidi @ Mt Hope
End of October was wonderful. We saw their Halloween/fall decor (which I thought was tasteful... I'm not much of a Halloween person), and then the overnight transformation to Christmas decor. Very fun. Lovely weather. No crowds.

I imagine it would be similar for Disney World, though.
mom31257
We loved going before Christmas. We were there the second week of December one time. The crowds were almost nothing. The decorations were beautiful. Their pools are heated. I can't remember if we swam or not, though. You said you've been granted a trip, but if you are like us, you WILL want to go back. If you homeschool (I know a few on here don't), there are homeschool days with greatly reduced prices. I can't speak to the crowds, but the prices are tremendous. My understanding is that they do this every year. Disney Homeschool Days
3littlekeets
We adore October and the Not So Scary Halloween Party is amazing. Kids trick or treat in the Park! It is truly amazing :-).
Kathleen in VA
We went in September 2005 (bil/sil on dh's side paid for us to go!!!). It was hot, but the crowds were non-existent. I think I might've preferred October just for a little cooler weather, but we had a blast and I do not remember feeling overly hot. Great swimming weather.:)
katemary63
We went in January. It was fantastic. We did not wait in a single line. We could run round and round the cue and get on a ride as many times as we wanted in a row! Any ride! We only had 1 cool evening and wore shorts most the other times. Just bring layers. It was perfect.
Guest Alte Veste Academy
We went last year in late October and it was perfect! It was warm enough to enjoy swimming but cool enough that we were comfortable at the parks. The waits were non-existent to very short and we rode our favorite rides multiple times. I think ds7 rode the Rock 'n Roller Coaster 7 times, once riding 3x in a row with zero wait! There is some dining extravaganza at EPCOT in October but if you make sure you avoid their heavily scheduled days, you'll make out fine. I would go back at the same time of year all over again. I personally wouldn't mind going in winter for sweatshirt weather (aaah!) but the kids would be very disappointed if they couldn't swim. DarlaS
We've been to DW twice. We went third week of April the first time and late March the 2nd. I would not want to go any later than the end of April. It was 80 degrees both times. I would book something ASAP if you're going to go in the spring.
