Halcyon
I had created a beautiful wall timeline, but my DH removed it to paint the walls, and now the walls looks so nice I don't knoww if I want to put it back up.... so.... is there a timeline in book format, perhaps an accordian type book which can be pulled out, that is secular or could be used by a secular homeschooler? Thanks for any links or ideas :)
DarlaS
Here are some ideas: http://www.homeschoolinthewoods.com/HTTA/TimelineHelps/ There is a link to their product on that page, but it's not prominently featured. I like the sketchbook idea. It seems that would be the easiest format for secular homeschoolers as it could go back as far as you like. You could change the scale as much as you need to (to avoid having blank pages in the prehistory portion). ETA: Their time line book only goes back to 5000 BCE Edited again: I've always wanted to get these and frame them: http://www.cricketmag.com/ProductDetail.asp?pid=2670 but I have no idea where I'd find the wall space... Satori
The Add-A-Century timeline book is very neat. You can keep it in a binder, or take it out and put it on the wall. http://www.addacentury.com/

Most of the time it resides in its binder, but we do take it out and stretch it across the floor occasionally. Blessings, Melinda

Halcyon
I think the sketchbook will work the best for us, too. I have already printed off the lines from the WTM yahoo group (can't remember where I got them, actually) and the figures, so if I get a sketchbook i can just glue those in. Won't have the ease of viewing that a large wall has, but more portable. Thnk you! helena
We bought the ones from Winter Promise, but I kind of wish I had these: http://www.thehomeschoolshop.com/sh-timelines.htm. They're affordable, and I like that hodge podge look. Unfortunately the pages can't be removed and put back.
