Mom in High Heels
The day has finally arrived! It is the first day of 3rd grade!!!! Indy is currently working on his "All About Me" page while I do a quick peruse of the forums. He's almost done, so I guess I'd better quit ignoring him (darn interesting forums!) and get back to it. I'll do an update when our day is over. Anyone else starting today???
knit247
We started today as well. So far we have covered Bible, math, penmanship, grammar, spelling (4th grader), reading (1st grader), and German. All we have left is history (my 4th grader will get in some read-aloud time here toady). Praying that this will be the year that I finally stick to a routine/schedule :)

olan719
Today is the first day of first grade!! :D When I really began researching homeschooling two years ago, first grade seemed so "official" when it came to the curriculums. I almost cried last night thinking about how fast the time flew! Here's to a great day with my "babies"!! They are so excited. :)

bookfiend
Yep, we're starting today with TOG Y2, 6th grade and 3rd grade. DH gave the boys an overview last night along with the standard behavior expecations. It's also our first year with a weekly co-op of nine other families. I feel so blessed to be walking this journey with other like-minded Moms. I'm comitting to turning off the computer during the school day - because you ladies are just too darn distracting :001_smile: ! Horray for homeschooling........ and we're off
Mom in High Heels
And we're done for the day! Hurrah! Actually, today took forever!!! Mostly because he's out of the habit of school and decided to write like a snail. OMG! I was about to go crazy. I guess I need to get back in the habit too. We started the day off with a special breakfast of waffles (plain for Indy, blackberry for James Bond-he just picked a huge bowl full of delicious blackberries-and blueberry for me. My waffle iron was busy!), then took first day photos and then started school. Today we did and All About Me page, history, math, Latin, FLL, spelling and made models of "trigger" words for his Davis dyslexia therapy. We started at 9:30, broke for lunch at 11:30 when James Bond came home, played a round of Blokus (our new favorite game) and then went back to school from 1-3. We could have had everything done in about 2.5 hours if he'd written faster (seriously, snail writing). I'm hoping that tomorrow he will be a bit quicker with the handwriting. All in all though, it was a good day. When we were through, I asked him what he thought and he said he'd give it two thumbs up because I'm the best teacher in the world. That's my boy.
