trisharog
I know nothing about base 10 sets. There is is quite a bit of difference in price in these three products. http://www.amazon.com/Base-Ten-Number-Concept-Set/dp/1564514498/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1281320683&sr=8-1 http://www.amazon.com/Learning-Resources-Plastic-Starter-LER0930/dp/B000F8VBBO/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=office-products&qid=1281321256&sr=8-2 http://www.singaporemath.com/Interlocking_Base_Ten_Starter_Set_p/mnibtss.htm Is there anything special you should look for in a set? Shelly in the Country
I don't know why the prices vary so much either. But...I have an interlocking set with two different colors (red and blue). I am indifferent to the interlocking, but the variation in color is nice for visually showing two separate numbers that are added together or subtracted. I got my set from Rainbow Resource, but I can't remember which set I bought.

Thanks Trisha Trisha, I much prefer the interlocking sets. You can actually build a 10 with ones, and see that they are indeed the same thing. Then build a 100 with 10's and see again that it is the same thing, then build a 1000 with 100's and see the big block. But lots of places have them, I think I got my set off of Christian Book Distributors. It is an ugly yellow orange, but I think that is why it was so cheap. :D I think it was in the mid $20's. Did you check out Rainbow Resource too? Heather
plain jane
I really like the wooden ones. So much nicer than plastic, IMO.
