trisharog
I will begin Singapore 3A Standard Version with dd8 this fall. Should I order the base 10( I think that is what they are called) rods? Did you use them a lot? Any other must have manipulatives? I ordered the blocks that look like legos. Thanks Trisha
Susan in KY
I have the MUS starter set, which I used for both dc. However, I dearly wish I had purchased this set, with thousand blocks, instead. I bought it for a friend who is in Africa, but figured the MUS set would do me (this was back at the Earlybird level). If I had had the bigger set, I would have pulled them out last week (in 5A). HTH, Susan ETA: I made all my other manipulatives except my bucket balance and my place value dice. You can find templates for fractions and use pokerchips for discs. Edited August 7, 2010 by Susan in KY

Pata
I left my base 10 blocks in the States thinking I wouldn't need them for 3A, that was a mistake. We did it without, but I do really wish I had them and will be bringing them back with me next time we return home.
