ktwensel
I am considering using MC with my DD (5th grade). She loves to write and I originally looked at IEW but it was very intimidating. Have any of you used this program? Do you like it? Is it fairly simple to implement? Thanks!
JennyW
I haven't tried it, but I've been strongly considering it, despite being a secular homeschooler. I am so impressed by what I see in the sample pages that I'm willing to overlook or change the religious parts. I just haven't made a final decision yet, but I think I will get it soon. If you do get it, please write about your experience! There aren't too many reviews out there.
Di3kids
For my 5th grade dd. I'm starting her in level 4+ (the first book, which is kinda confusing IMHO because the second book is just 4). Really excited to use it - a few others posted good things about it. If I knew how to do it, I'd copy and paste their comments here. I'm a bit techno-challenged. I'll be happy to report how it goes in our hs.
ktwensel
That's great Di3kids! I would love to read your thoughts after using it. BTW, I don't know how to paste quotes here either!!
HollyDay
I tried it last year. I would also suggest starting with 4+ to get the basics of the program. It is a Key Word outline program, teaching the child to develop an outline then write from it. We found it to be rather tedious and repetitious. I dropped it after a month. My oldest really liked AG's essay writing program. It was short, to the point and helped her a great deal. My youngest has responded best to Ignite Your Writing. 3byzaz
We have used it for a couple of years. We totally love it - it's my favorite curriculum find - after CLE!! I like that it is very easy to use - written to the student, so pretty independent, very Godly, affordable and very enjoyable. My boys love it - my reluctant writer can now write and likes it and my great writer loves it. It is also a nice blend of structured writing where they give you the paragraphs and creative writing - whole books are all cw. You can also mix and match - it's very flexible! And, I love the IEW elements to it.
