Love2Smile
For 7th - 9th grades? Does it cover American History in depth? Say as much as a textbook American History course? Just wondering about this for my 8th grader
Susan C.
No, it isn't textbook history. My ds did it in 7-8th grades, and really liked it. I read ahead and made more questions, he needed more fact recall than the guide had on some of the books. He was going through a period in middle school where he misinterpreted book's endings, so I made questions to lead him along. The Ben Franklin and Lewis and Clark books (Daugherty) are written in the 50s, so the language is different, it took a little effort to click into them, but they were good. HollyDay
No, I would say it is not as in depth as a dedicated American history spine. It is a combination US and World. It ends just prior to Civil War by the way. I think it does a good job on the pilgrim era though. You could supplement with William Penn's World and History of Inventions to add more.
