tarana
Those of you using Scott Foresman Science, I have the the Readers and the teachers' guide. Do I need anything else? (For 3rd Grade) I do not access to http://www.pearsonsuccessnet.com Do they have any additional resources like quizes etc on their website? Can individuals access their website? tarana
This is my first year of using SF Science. All I have is the SF Readers. Yes the books are expensive. I got it used for a great deal. I am not sure what workbooks or textbooks I need. Since I have the readers, do I need the student textbook and the student workbook? Can I just get the Teacher's Edition? We intend to do most of the work orally and hands-on. I want to make it more fun with the least amount of writing. May be use a notebook to write ideas & keep journals. Pippen
I'm pretty sure access to their website is gained by schools that adopt their textbook packages. Here's a list of what other materials are available: http://scottforesman.com/pdfs/science/southcarolinasciencefwo.pdf The leveled readers are intended to be a supplement to the science text and lab manual. In my daughter's 4th grade public school they used them (or something similar) as one of the reading stations because they contained some science content that could be on the state tests. If they're the same readers that I saw they didn't have any activities--those were all in the textbook--so you would at least need to supplement labs and activities. tarana
Thanks for the replies. I am getting the Student Text, the Teacher's edition and the Student workbook. SF science seems promising and fun. My girls loved the Readers. Like I said before we will try to do this orally with a hands on approach, so we can cover more material this year. I just want them to learn the concepts. I was told most PSs in AZ use this cirriculum but are unable to go beyond 2-3 units due to lack of time. What a shame!
