Aubrey
Even a little bit? Are they worth $30, iyo? TIA!
DawnM
Not unless you can find them used. They are worth it if you use them! They are chock full of info and activities. Dawn
Kathleen in VA
I've never seen them go on sale, sadly. I loved doing the Colonial Life CD with my two youngest. I think if you do all the projects, including the handwriting and writing projects, you really don't need to add anything but math and any extras you like (Latin for example). If you look at it like that, then yes, they are worth $30. I will mention that the text seems to be rather detailed and above the intellect of the intended age group the hands-on activities. Of course, that all depends on which of your children you are thinking of using it for. I just remember having to distill it a bit as I read it aloud. Their eyes were glazing over, lol. Also, ds14 wasn't as keen on the lapbook making as dd11 (this was a couple of years ago). He didn't like all the cutting and pasting, etc. Not sure if that's a "boy" thing or not. Aubrey
Hmmm...I can't tell if it's for us, then, or not. I *love* unit studies, but...I couldn't stomach the $30 for the Civil War TT & just got a bunch of library books. I don't like to do it that way, but...we're not so into lapbooking, & I doubt we'd use the copywork. Doesn't sound like much is left after that, huh? :glare: But they've just released a new one--1860s or so thr the Great Depression, & I've been drooling over it all morning.
MariannNOVA
Here is the link to the thread that just started on the curric board regarding TT. http://www.welltrainedmind.com/forums/showthread.php?t=200656 I am seriously thinking about TT - I CRAVE the continuity of it sitting there, all of it in chronological order. I am so burned out.:svengo:
