hmschooln
Hi. Been trying to find a doll that has hair that will stay nice and soft so dd can play with and brush it. Does anyone have any experience with the corolle ones? Like this one http://cgi.ebay.com/Vanilla-Brunette-Miss-Corolle-14-inch-Doll-/110526216512?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19bbe03940 We got her a doll once that was made for that purpose(Style me Pretty doll) and with in 2 hrs of opening the box the hair had turned into this ginormous frizzy thing that you couldn't even run your hand into . Tried conditioner, fabric softener, nothing would help it and the company was super rude.:001_huh: So it sits with it's puffball in a ponytail because the hair is useless. So hoping to avoid the same outcome. Any reviews please?:001_smile:
BikeBookBread
My dds both have Gotz "Maxi Muffin" dolls. The hair has stayed very nice and soft, and is WASHABLE (with shampoo no less!) As a hint, the doll shop from which my Mom bought the dolls suggests mixing a bit of fabric softener with water, putting into a spray bottle, and brushing with a METAL WIG brush. Keeps the hair nice and soft. I've only heard good things about both Corolle and Gotz dolls.

Imprimis
The only Corolle doll we have has no hair, so I can't speak to that issue....but Corolle dolls are wonderful. We do have a Gotz Maxy Muffin, similar to this one http://www.toys2wish4.com/gotz-maxy-muffin-blonde-hair.html that my now 6 yo daughter got for her 2nd birthday....the hair is STILL beautiful, soft, and styleable. I can tell you, of all the dolls that have made their home here (and that includes American Girl dolls....) I've been most impressed with the hair on the Gotz doll. vettechmomof2
My daughter has an older Gotz doll and her hair is very easy to deal with.
Matryoshka
We love, love, love the Gotz Maxy Muffins here. They are my kids' favorite dolls, played with even more than the American Girl dolls. Their hair can be styled, and they've held up great through lots of play. I have three dds and four Maxy Muffins... :tongue_smilie: The Maxy Muffins also fit perfectly into Bitty Baby/Twins clothes, if you're in need of wardrobe - and actually they fit pretty darn well into full-size American Girl clothing; the skirts are just a bit longer on them, but the body fits fine. hmschooln
Thanks for the replys. Hmm I hadn't seen the Gotz dolls yet. :confused1:Now I'm debating between them or the Corolle one.:001_smile:
Brigitte
Corolle dolls have always help up well in our house. My girls got Maxi Muffins for their 2nd birthday and their hair held up only okay, but the hair was slightly curly/wavy to begin with. I think straight hair would be fine. Once they put a bit of curl in a doll's hair, it tends to get frizzy with brushing.
