wy_kid_wrangler04
I am asking this for a friend. It needs to be enough to count as 1 full high school credit, but also inexpensive. Also, this has to last for 9 kids :001_smile:. Any ideas? I will be asking on the high school board also, just though there might be some ideas here also! mims
Check out Breaking the Spanish Barrier. Straight forward but appears to have depth.
AngieW in Texas
I have tried Rosetta Stone, Tell Me More (Auralog), and Visual Link for Spanish. So far, Visual Link is the clear winner. None of the other programs have worked this well even at the very beginning. Visual Link actually teaches everything explicitly rather than relying on immersion to do the trick. NARHS offers a full high school credit for level 1. This is on their website: High School Credit - Here is a list of our Spanish homeschool curriculum courses that are accredited through NARHS (North Atlantic Regional High Schools): * Level I Course – 1st year Spanish * Level II Verb Course – 2nd year Spanish * Level III Verb Course – 3rd year Spanish * Digital Learning Center (DLC) and Personal Proficiency Trainer (PPT) combined – 4th year Spanish Please contact NARHS before starting the course to ensure full credit is received. http://www.learnspanishtoday.com/homeschool.htm?link=
WaterLily
AngieW in Texas - I was just wondering how you grade this? My 8th grader is going to be starting VL this year and I'm not sure how to grade it. I want him to have hs credit for it (we may do it over 2 years) so I know I need to grade it somehow. Thanks! :)
lisabees
I am following Angie's advice and using Visual Link for my 11th grader as a refresher course. It's in the mail! ;)
hmdavis02
I don't have highschoolers, but I did check out the Visual Link free demo and was very impressed. I've heard geat things about it, so you might want to google it and check it out!
lynds2
My dd is going into 7th grade, we tired the Berlitz Spanish and it was a total joke. Will they miss out on the writing experience with this program?
