It ***poured*** right in the middle of our huge party! (Party with 63+) Funny.

We had the big party (it was more like 90 people) yesterday and it was a TON of fun. Thanks for all the ideas -- I set up a sand and water table after reading that on here. It ended up being a wet sand and sandy water table. :tongue_smilie: Also had a small wading pool, pickleball and badminton, sidewalk chalk, bubbles, etc.

Well, about an hour into it as we were just praying over the meal, it started to POUR. It rained hard for half an hour. I *so* hadn't expected to get 90 people into my house (with wet shoes and food!!) but it worked out well. It was better than the 100 degrees with no breeze that we'd had the week before, that's for sure.

As for the food -- I cooked up about 8-10 lbs. of ground beef for the southern hot dogs and it filled a gallon bag and that just did NOT look like enough so I cooked another 4-6 lbs. Then I cooked up some rice to add if it needed more filler. I'm SO glad I didn't add the rice as we only used one gallon bag of meat to begin with. Now I have a gallon bag of barbecue ground beef in my freezer.

My only "negative," which isn't really one, is that there were so many people that I couldn't really visit with everyone. Many came from out of town, and many are locals that I don't see often, so I wish I could have chatted more with everyone. What I loved was that our kids got to hang with a ton of kids and that we have an awesome yard now for playing in.

Thanks again!!

Aw, it sounds like a blast! But I'm glad I got to come for my very own special visit!

Yeah, 'cause you are one that I really would have regretted not getting some serious face time with! But you would probably also have been a big help when it started raining in figuring out what to DO; I was just kind of "uh-uh-uh, it's not going to rain is it?"
