dallas12
I have been researching curriculums for my children and was wondering if anyone uses Veritas Press or Memoria Press materials? If so, I was wondering what you think of them? Also, which one you think is the best? Thanks!
SilverMoon
We use parts of both. They both produce great quality materials. :) It'd be hard to compare them without knowing which parts you're considering.
dallas12
Thank you very much for the reply. I liked what I saw on Memoria's website but I haven't been able to find any reviews so I wasn't sure about it. I am currently just looking at the kindergarten package but want to think long term too. Do you have to supplement the Memoria curriculums as the grades progress? What materials do you use? I saw that Memoria and Veritas have a lot of similarities so wasn't sure if one has better materials. I appreciate it.
SilverMoon
I can't say that one is better than the other. I haven't used a boxed set from either of them. At this point Memoria doesn't offer graded curricula packages beyond K. I think that K set is fairly new itself, so there probably aren't many reviews out there. VP does offer graded curricula sets from K to 12. Their packages are a mixture of VP's products and products from other companies, including MP. This year we're using MP's logic, Famous Men books for history supplements, and when my second graders are ready for cursive we'll be using their New American Cursive. From VP we're using their history program and literature recommendations (sans comp guides). For Latin we went with Classical Academic Press instead of MP, but VP recommends both MP's and CAP's Latin programs in their catalog. There's some overlap between those two companies, but they complement each other nicely.
Amy in KS
You could look at easyclassical.com. They schedule VP recommended materials into a sonlight type (very readable) schedule.
