irizarry4
Starting R&S 5 with ds this fall. It is my first experience with R&S, coming from FLL 4 (which I LOVED!!!!). I haven't the faintest how to work with R&S. Do you do a lesson per day? How do YOU use the teacher book? Do you do it all? Do they write anything, or is it oral? HELP!!!:scared: I know this has been hashed out extensively in earlier posts, so a link to your already-posted wisdom is just as welcome. God bless! :bigear: Ivette
coffeefreak
Just like you used to do in public school. Do a lesson a day. Read the TM and teach the lesson from the TM to your student. Do some of the oral problems to make sure they understand the information, and then assign some of the written and review work. The next day, I go over the work with her to make sure she understood it, and we move on. The Review lessons before the tests I usually split up into two days. On the days I give a test, that's all we do. Rod and Staff tells you how to grade the tests. Easy peasy rice and cheesy! HTH! Daisy
One lesson per day, 4x a week, if you school a 36 week year. My daughter has been doing R&S all along so she reads the lesson on her own and completes the work. If there is a worksheet associated with the lesson, I'll let her do that INSTEAD of the written work in the book. If she doesn't understand a concept she lets me know and we go over it. When that happens I tend to do the lesson orally and/or on a white board. If you use another writing program, you can opt to skip the starred lessons which are writing lessons. We do them though because they do a great job teaching outlining and research skills, imo.
