books for third graders

my kids have to do book reports with books that are 100+ pages what are some good books that will expand the mind but not take forever they have 2 every 6 weeks with our curriculum

 

i have a dd and a ds the ds is above adverage reading the dd is on skill level but is frightened by long books due to an issue when she was younger in public school

I would try finding Large print versions of classics like Peter Pan or Alice in Wonderland. We also found Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in large print. My library has these with pictures that make the book seem less threatening.
