The Girls' Mom
My dh and I have begun to really enjoy biking. Only MY bike was a cheapo Target bike that was 10 years old. I had a hard time keeping up with my dh. Well, we went and upgraded my bike to a Marin (this one http://www.marinbikes.com/2010/bike_specs.php?serialnum=887) Oh my stars! I'm in love. I feel like I can ride all day now :) Only problem is....my girls all want upgrades now too...

keptwoman
I've just got back from a 50km (35 mile) bike trip with Scouts. I have a new appreciation for the value of a good bike. Cheap bikes are just fine for playing about with friends or in the backyard or street, they are not fine for long bike trips. Mine is a middle of the road type bike and I survived OK, worse than those on the really good bikes and a LOT better than those on cheap ones.
