It's kind of a pain to navigate, but I used this a lot with my eldest when he was younger.

Are there any online resources I can use to help with writing mechanics, i.e., punctuation, comma rules, etc? I know there's a free grammar program, but I can't remember the name and whether or not it covers mechanics.

thanks!!

Grammarland is old-fashioned, but still a fun little narrative way to learn parts-of-speech.

Scott Foresman Grammar allows you to download free pdfs of their workbooks.

Hope this helps!
