lollie010
It looks like it might not be. I had a friend try to order from Barnes and Nobles and Amazon, but all they had was regular bindingI checked out the Peace Hill Press site and couldn't find spiral there either. I cannot imagine using OPGTR if it was not spiral bound.
plain jane
I have not seen it spiral bound anywhere. I was fortunate to purchase mine used. :) You could buy the bound version and have it coil bound at Staples. I've done this with books and the cost is fairly minimal. MsAlimar
I had my binding cut off and spiral bound at Fedex Kinko's. It was fairly inexpensive and works so much better with the spiral binding.

I got my copy a few years ago. It has really been though a lot. The binding that was used is strong and the pages haven't ripped. I wonder if the Staples binding would be comparable. amydavis
I've seen so many people mention cutting the binding off of books and having them professionally spiral bound, but I've never done it. Honestly, I never realized that it could be done, as silly as that seems, until I read it here. Oh, the things I learn from the hive! :D I hope this isn't a stupid question, but do you cut the binding yourself, or does the company (like Staples) do it? I have a couple of books, including the OPGTR that would be so much better that way. And when you say it isn't very expensive - could you give me a ballpark figure? I just want to have an idea before I go in. Sorry if I've hijacked!

I just want to have an idea before I go in. Sorry if I've hijacked! I had them cut the binding. They use one big blade and all the pages are cut nicely to the same size. It's been a while since I've done it. I believe it was $2 for the cutting of the binding and $4ish for the coil binding? Maybe it was $5ish for both? Gosh, I can't remember exactly. Definitely less than $10. :o I wish I knew, but I've never tried it either. I would just want to make sure it wasn't comb binding, which drives me crazy. Oh no, you can choose what you want, and coil binding is an option. It's good quality. Well, the job *I* had done was good quality. I guess it depends where you go as to the quality of the coils. I've also heard that it matters how sharp their cutter is. I made sure to ask if their blade had been replaced recently before permitting them to hack away at my book. :tongue_smilie:

kesmom
I had a different book spiral bound a Staples a couple of years ago. It was LHTH, which is slightly thicker than OPG. They cut the binding, added a clear protective cover to the front + back, and added the spiral binding. It was $6 and change if I remember right. Ohh--that is a great idea to spiral bind the HOD guides.
plain jane
Ohh--that is a great idea to spiral bind the HOD guides. Careful. That's dangerous thinking. ;) Once you get going, cutting off bindings and trading them in for spiral gets reeeeally addictive. Then you're left with a bookshelves worth of spiral bound books that have no spine and all look the same at first glance. :glare:
