Wyndie
DH has an old quilt his gma made for him when he enlisted 23 years ago. It's been through the ringer and in desperate need of repair before it falls apart. I can sew but only the very basics and not the kind of sewing that would be required for a cherished keepsake. Who can I take it to? Will any seamstress be able to repair it or does it require special skills to repair quilts? Thank you. :)
Giraffe
Look in your area for quilt shops - not Wal-mart but really independent quilt shops. Ask the proprietor for recommendations on someone who could do the repairs. I'm sure any seamstress could do the repairs but a quilter would know how to integrate the repair into the original quilt better, I would think. Hope that helps!
