MommyThrice
:lurk5:... I'm ditching Apologia this year and going with the Physics suggestions for my 6th & 8th graders. I'm pretty excited about it.
siloam
:lurk5:... I'm ditching Apologia this year and going with the Physics suggestions for my 6th & 8th graders. I'm pretty excited about it. Me too! It was hard to choose a topic I could put both my 7th and 5th grader in, but in the end we also landed on Physics for this year, and Biology for next year when my 3rd dd will join them. Heather P.S. I have another thread on the color issue that a few people have posted to that you might want to check out.
homeschoolmommaof4
Well this year my ds10 is doing the recomended logic biology COS and we just finihsed our first week. We covered cells, and not only did he seems to really enjoy the reading and research, but when I had him dictate a report to me on Thursday, he did a great job of retelling the material. He really enjoyed diagramming a plant and an animal cell, and of course he enjoyed doing an experiment that he choose and did pretty much by himself. All in all, I would say it's a hit! I just ordered us the microscope recommended in the 2009 WTM and I know hes really gonna have a blast with it too. We may end up doing Science more often than just 2-3 days a week, hehe.
