Wyndie
We have those and the kids never use them. They don't like them. I don't know why; we're probably just weird... They have great potential though!
RamonaQ
Honestly, I think it would be more fun to buy little tiny notecards and have the kids make up their own words (you could use spelling words! or vocab words!), and then play with that. Plus you could add in family member names. You could also color code nouns, verbs and adjectives. I have always found that the kids love our homemade educational games so much more....one game that was a HUGE hit was let the kids play store (to practice with money). The kids would make index cards items-- draw a picture and put an amount under $1 or $5 (depending on what we played). The kids thought this was HILARIOUS-- they would put highly coveted items (a nintendo ds, a pug puppy, favorite candy) for tiny amounts of money. We had many variations on those cards. How much could you buy for a $1? How much does everything cost? Buy an item, make change. Give each kid a handful of change from the change jar, what all can they buy. OnTheBrink
My dd would love those (and I would, too!). The Exploratorium in SF has a similar game and it was a lot of fun.
