Dmmetler
I'm going to be at a conference in KC next week, and DH and DD will be exploring the area while mommy gets to play "Serious, professional college professor". Is there any wonderful, fun, educational stuff that they should check out? I already know about the science center with the T-rex Cafe-my future paleontologist didn't let me miss that one-but I'm sure there's more out there. GoVanGogh
The KC zoo is very nice! We have only been 'through' KC so I don't know what else there is to see and do. An hour north is Saint Joseph. We were through that city briefly earlier this month and I was impressed with the number of museums they had. We enjoyed the Pony Express museum very much. Sad to miss the Harley factory. :glare:

jacqui in mo
Check out the Steamboat Arabia museum. It's a steamship that sunk in the Missouri River over 150 years ago and some entrepreneurs finally located it and have been carefully restoring the cargo and other finds. It's a really neat place. http://www.1856.com/

It's a few blocks from where DH and I went to college, so I "dragged" him there regularly, too. :D Seriously, though, dragging isn't necessary. It's beautiful.
