ProudGrandma
Hannah is nearly 10 and we are just looking for some new books for her to read. She likes horses and mysteries, but is open to other things too. Thanks for your help! Kathy
MotherGoose
How about Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH, My Side of the Mountain, Treasure Island, look at "Read for the Heart" by Sarah Clarkson for ideas. Has she done "Little House on the Prarie?" Maybe go down a list of Newberry/Caldecott books? I think I read Tom Sawyer (with some help) at that age. And I liked the Hardy Boys ( a little fluff, but not too bad).
AnitaMS
How about the Edward Eager books? Or the All-of-a-kind Family? or for more modern, Eva Ibbotson's stories?

MtnTeaching
Favorites of my daughter and myself are: One Hundred and One Dalmations by Dodie Smith (also my favorite) The Cricket in Times Square From the Mixed-up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler The Ghost in the Swing (out of print but you may be able to find in the library -it's a great spine-chilling mystery for a girl.)
