DC Black Tie gala - what in the world would I wear??!!!

Recommended Posts

Okay, DH's new job here in the DC area has opened up a new world of possibilities, including attendance at a black tie gala event in November at the Air and Space Smithosonian. I'm just planning ahead!!! :w00t: Does this mean full length ball-gown? Probably not cocktail dress, right? He would be wearing AF mess dress or more likely, black tie (as it is not a military event, but a National Traffic and Safety Board- NTSB - event).

OMH - my dh went to a black tie at A&S last year - I begged off - I have an attitude that when his employer pays me to attend those things, I will.

Anyway, you love Nordstrom's, right? Black, probably. Mid-calf - nothing near or above the knee. Think Saturday night wedding at a five star hotel. And, Lord and Taylor's has an excellent 'aftr five' department.

Is there a Loehmann's near you? Falls Church? The Back Room.

HTH - we are getting ready to leave for NJ and another goalie camp - will call you next week.

Your DH is NTSB???!!!! ha!!!! This is the NTSB Bar Association event... DH just started AIB.

No, (not NTSB) but he attended last year - there are FAA people and DHS people and others who are invited. Is this the one that is downtown or at Udvar Hazy? I know that I refer to it as 'tux season' and I make sure that everything is ready to wear.;)
