Rich with Kids
And it's freaking me out. When I talk to him on the phone or hear him while he's talking in another room it startles me a bit. He's 14, almost 6' tall with man hair on his legs, deep voice, but goofy as ever. Just a "Where'd my baby go?" observation. :001_smile:

shalom22
We are in the exact same boat. He is almost as tall as I am and I am 6'. It won't be long before I have to look up to him.

1bassoon
You know, I have a friend who cuddles her little boys and says, "Someday you're going to turn into a big, smelly, hairy, deep-voiced man. . . and I will still love you!" We're living that. It's so. . . .strange.

He's 14, almost 6' tall with man hair on his legs, deep voice, but goofy as ever. Just a "Where'd my baby go?" observation. :001_smile: Yep, same here with my dss. I noticed he does the same thing as my dh, too; when they're leaving a voice mail message, they lower their voice even deeper. What up with that? :tongue_smilie: Awhile ago DD 14 was stretched out on the couch reading; mistook her for DW for a moment...I nearly had a stroke! Time flies... This happened to my dh once when he happened through the laundry room while I was sorting laundry. Let's just say the article of clothing belonged to my dsd, and he thought it was mine. After he made a somewhat suggestive comment, I looked him in the eye with a little smirk and said, 'Um, that's your daughter's, not mine'. Oh boy, did that creep him out big time. I, on the other hand, still chuckle about it. :D
Nestof3
Congrats! You'll get used to it real fast. I am actually looking forward to my boys' screechy voices to change. LOL The pitch is so sharp it hurts my ears.
Jeannie in NJ
my son, age 12, called me in to see the hair (yes, singular) on his leg. I honestly could'nt see it, he kept saying "It's right there, keep looking".
Caroline
My son has the man voice now, but he didn't change the voicemail message on his cell phone. So, anytime I want to hear the kid voice, I call his cell phone when I know he won't be answering it. I told him I do that, too, so he still hasn't changed it. MamaT
I remember when this happened with my oldest. I would hear his voice and it would startle me because I thought my dh had come home. Warning - Gross! The first time he got sick after his voice changed, he was throwing up and I thought he was going to die it was so loud. He was just MAN throwing up instead of little boy throwing up. It was weird.
Donna
This happened with my ds in the last 6-8 months. I'm right there with ya! He's even starting to look like a man...like my brother to be exact. It feels like deja vu.

Ds went with dh on an early morning road-bike ride this morning. I was cooking breakfast when they got home and ds walked right behind me before he took a shower. EEEWwwww!!!! It took me right back to the high school gym!:tongue_smilie:

His young voice may still appear periodically. ;) Younger ds will be 15 in a week. He's 6'3, hairy, man voice, with little boy face! Older ds always looked so much older than his age, younger ds has a total BABY face.
newbie
I used to pick on my lil brother shamelessly, I still do, and he is 25, it just seems weird to see my lil baby bro w/curls, w/a manly voice.
