Annie Laurie
My son just turned 6. He'll be in 1st this year and is an advanced reader- he just finished reading Frindle, for a point of reference. He has had phonics here and there as review but I do a poor job at staying consistent if it's teacher intensive, since I don't feel he really needs it, I'm just covering our bases. So he's been begging to do CLE LA like his siblings all year and I think we'll go ahead and do LA 1. Is that enough phonics review or is Reading 1 the main phonics? I think he'd be bored with the little stories and I don't like formal reading programs, but I do want him to have a good phonics review this year. Or should I just add Spelling Workout or something with rules? What do you all think?
