MellowYellow
For those of you who are in homeschooling groups or co-ops how far do you travel for them? (15 min, 30, 45, etc)
Mrs Mungo
It's generally at least a 45 minute drive for anything we do here.
LauraGB
Across town, so anywhere from 15-25 minutes, depending on traffic. Dh and I have entertained moving out of town, and I think the most I would commit to driving on a regular basis would be 30-40 min. But in that case, I would plan accordingly to get as much done as I could during each drive (rearrange other classes, etc, so they would at least happen on the same day). I really don't love driving. NanceXToo
It varies. Our homeschool group sometimes meets at various members' houses, sometimes at a community building, sometimes at playgrounds, and we do many field trips and tours. The closest I've been able to go was about 10 min to the community building we sometimes use. The furthest I've traveled for field trips has ranged between 1 and 1 1/2 hours away from home. Carrie12345
The group we meet with now is less than 2 miles down the road. :) The group we used to meet with was a good 30 minutes away.
Starr
Next door is good but we've also traveled 45 minutes.
gingersmom
I have traveled an hour but would travel farther. Other homeschoolers I meet think I am crazy :D I want to take advantage of all the get togethers, museums, classes, etc and if it means driving 2 hours I will do it. ChristusG
Ours is about 15 to 18 minutes away.
AngelaNYC
Activities, clubs, and get-togethers held at library rooms - I wouldn't travel more than 15 minutes. Field trips and hands-on classes - up to 30 minutes. Something truly spectacular (rare, like once every couple of years) - up to an hour. MaMa2005
We travel an hour once a week for special enrichment classes. Some of my other friends drive longer than we do. It is worth every minute of the travel time.
LibraryLover
We have a group, not a 'co-op'. There are no fees and people attend as they are able, without issue (although there are often sign-up deadlines) . Some programs are free, some are more costly. We travel anywhere between 10 and 70 minutes (more or less) for the programming that makes sense for our needs & interests.
