dsmith
of his home office, that is!:D I will soon have a school room/lego building room for ds and I. I have 2 6 foot long tables that I was going to use for desk space and building space. I will need some sturdy inexpensive shelving for books, so I would love some recommendations. Also, if anyone has some good ideas for storing lego bricks for a large collection. We have about 6 large bins of bricks, but it's hard to find pieces with them all jumbled together. Ds is very serious about his legos and designing different models. I would like him to have a good setup.
Chelle in MO
O.k., you scared me there for minute! I have no recommendations for you, but thought I'd bump you up!

Mommyof4ks
Don't do that lol. :D We store legos in little craft boxes with dividers in them (about 2" squares), and sets we store in baggies (and put those in a box) and those rolling carts with 3 or more drawers. Some sets have very large pieces (Indidana Jones sets), and those I have to put in baskets by themselves.
TheCoffeeChick
In my dream world I'd have this: http://lostbuttonstudio.blogspot.com/2008/04/playroom-makeover.html or this: http://www.wikihow.com/Image:Dkred-1366.jpg for each color. Currently we do something similar to this: http://mamawantsmore.blogspot.com/2008/08/tackle-it-tuesday-lego-organization.html We mostly sort by color (the small ones are sorted by size) into shoebox size containers and then put all those into 2 large sterlite bins which fit under my ds's bed. dsmith
Sorry, couldn't resist! In my defense, I just spent a long weekend with my niece, who is a major drama queen.:001_smile: Guess some rubbed off. O.k., you scared me there for minute! I have no recommendations for you, but thought I'd bump you up!
dsmith
Wow, I love the Lego building table in the first link! I can't do that, but I love the idea of the rail around the top. I have to show dh that so he can do something similar to the table we have. I'm always helping ds look for dropped pieces! Some great ideas here, thanks! Kate in Arabia
Does anyone have the Box4Blox? It looks neat, but I'm wondering if the reality is as good as the sell...
dsmith
Ds is definitely more like your son. It drives me crazy when we spend $80 on a set, he builds it and plays with/admires it for a week, and then rips it apart to build something new. I'm more like your daughter, lol! Thanks for the link. I never think to check the education site. I really like the large stackable bins. Lot's of planning to do... What kind of Logoer do you have? These Lego Storage options should help you with ideas. We use #1 for my creative son who likes to build from his own imagination, although he would really like #4. My daughter is who is exacting and wants to keep each set separated and ready to go, uses #11.
