rootsnwings
...has a complete list of materials needed. I always see a cute activity I'd like to do with my kids but end up not having some of the materials needed and so I end up forgetting about it and just do nothing! Or the old standby(s): coloring books, paints, etc... Does anyone have a suggestion for a good activity book that has a list of materials? I have 2 boys, age 9 & 3 that I'm looking to do workboxes with this schoolyear & I really want to be on the ball with adding in some fun activities & crafts. :) Thanks in advance!! TheCoffeeChick
This probably won't be of much help for you - but at least you'll get a bump out of it. ;) I find that just having a good variety of supplies on hand is much easier than trying to plan ahead all the time. If there is a specific craft or activity we want to do then I plan ahead, but for general craft time I just open the craft bins and let the kids have at it. A good start of materials would be: wiggle eyes paper plates paper bags construction paper scissors glue, the normal elmer's kind glue sticks fun foam felt chenille sticks pom poms glitter sequins craft sticks paint sting/yarn hole punch stapler markers buttons beads stickers I try to stock up on things when I have a coupon from Michael's or Joann's - they end up quite cheap when they are 40% off.
