plansrme
My 10 yo daughter is in a swim meet this weekend that is in prelim/finals format. The fastest qualifier in prelims gets to pick the song the D.J. plays as the girls are introduced at finals. At the meet in which she competed to get to this point, she was the top qualifier in both of her events, and we were taken by surprise. She doesn't know much popular music, and neither do I, and we had to solicit ideas from her coaches and a random stranger who was standing around. If she can get her back injury under control (ugh), she is very likely to be the top seed in these events in the meet this weekend and may well finish first in prelims. I do not want to be caught unprepared again and need suggestions! The only things I've come up with are "They've Got Nothin' on You, Baby" (the "Beautiful Girls" song) and "She Works Hard for Her Money," by Donna Summer, though I looked up the lyrics for that one and nixed it because "she" is a hooker. Someone always picks The Eye of the Tiger, so not that. I also thought the Jaws theme would be fun if the DJ has it, but we won't know until we get there. One of the older girls in the 15-18 group picked Single Ladies for her final, which was cute but not quite appropriate for 9/10 yos. So any suggestions?
