Staceyshoe
I recently read "Creative Homeschooling: A Resource Guide for Smart Families." It was incredibly helpful!! There were two other books referenced in it: Gifted Children at Home: A Practical Guide for Hoemschooling Families Gifted Education Comes Home Would you recommend either of these books? Would they add something that wasn't in Creative Homeschooling? TIA!
Dmmetler
I've read Gifted children at home. It helped to cement my feeling that homeschooling was the right option for my DD. I haven't read the others, though, so I can't compare them.
HeidiD
I recently read "Creative Homeschooling: A Resource Guide for Smart Families." It was incredibly helpful!! There were two other books referenced in it:Gifted Children at Home: A Practical Guide for Hoemschooling Families Gifted Education Comes Home Would you recommend either of these books? Would they add something that wasn't in Creative Homeschooling? TIA! I've read Creative Homeschooling and Gifted Children at Home. They are written in different formats; the second book presents step-by-step info. in a more compact style. I think they are both useful, particularly for someone starting out homeschooling. We had been homeschooling for a while before I read them, and up to that point I hadn't really considered the gifted aspect as relevant since we were already individualizing our curricula, so a lot of the information in the books wasn't new to me. However, I did glean some useful insights from them all the same. If you're looking for a succinct yet comprehensive overview, you might find Gifted Children at Home useful. I think Gifted Education Comes Home was an earlier book by Lisa Rivero.
Staceyshoe
Thank you! I think I will order Gifted Children at Home. I'm new to hsing and decided to go this route because the ps system would not address my son's academic needs. It sounds like this book would really be helpful for me. WindblownIdeas
I loved Creative Home Schooling - filled with resources I didn't know about. I'll have to look into the others. Thanks, Shannon
